NEW ORLEANS – Changes to healthcare reform law. Turbulent prescription drug costs. The opioid epidemic. Healthcare innovation. Advances in care. Since Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana hosted the first Business to Business Forum on Healthcare Solutions (B2B health forum) three years ago, the landscape of healthcare has become even more uncertain. And employers are right to be concerned with the factors pressuring healthcare costs.
To provide a forum to talk about efforts to keep costs in line, share information and answer questions, Blue Cross has partnered with Greater New Orleans, Inc., the New Orleans Business Alliance and the New Orleans Chamber of Commerce. This year’s B2B health forum will be Thursday, Aug. 23, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans.
There is no cost to attend the B2B health forum, but space is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Advanced registration is strongly recommended. Register and see the event agenda at bcbsla.com/B2BHealthForum.
The forum features keynote speaker Adam Beck, vice president of employer health policy and initiatives at America’s Health Insurance Plans, on the role and value of the employer market in healthcare today. Breakout sessions will address topics such as how innovation is improving care, how Blue Cross is combating rising drug costs, how employers can protect their healthcare investments, and the value of wellness in the workplace.
This gathering of business leaders, community organizations, healthcare providers, insurance plan executives, government officials, advocates and other key stakeholders to talk about what Louisiana businesses can do to promote better health among employees and keep costs in line is open to any New Orleans-area business leader. You do not have to be a Blue Cross customer to attend.
Enjoy networking with other leaders over lunch, which is provided. The forum concludes with a panel question-and-answer discussion with the CEOs of GNO, Inc., Louisiana Association of Business and Industry (LABI), New Orleans Business Alliance and New Orleans Chamber.
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana is the largest private insurer in the state of Louisiana and has been increasing its commitment to the New Orleans region through hosting the B2B health forum, joining New Orleans Business Alliance to support the NOLA Health Innovators challenge and Tulane University to create the Partnership for Healthcare Innovation, and as the title sponsor of Blue Bikes, the New Orleans bike share program. The insurer also has launched the SmartShopper website, designed to make healthcare pricing more transparent for Blue Cross customers across the state.
