Blue Cross Statement on Federal Court Decision on the Affordable Care Act

We are currently assessing the ruling in order to understand the implications, and when any operational changes would need to be made. At the moment, there are no immediate changes coming from this ruling, and we are continuing to serve our members as we always have through our mission of improving the health and lives of Louisianians.

We have been operating under continual change with regard to the Affordable Care Act for the last several years, and strongly believe the health insurance market, particularly the individual market, needs more stability and predictability. We also need changes to improve affordability while preserving access. We continue to stand ready to work with our federal and state legislators and regulators on these important issues.

At the moment, there are no immediate changes coming from this ruling, and we are continuing to serve our members who receive benefits through the affordable care act throughout the rest of this year and will continue to serve those that are enrolled on January 1, 2019.
