Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana Extends Customer Service Hours

BATON ROUGE, La. – To better meet its customers’ needs, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana customer service representatives are available from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday - Friday, which is three hours later than its original operating hours.

The extended hours allow many members the opportunity to talk about their health matters at home or outside the workplace. Making calls in the evenings will save members time away from their busy schedules during the day.

“If you get a bill from your doctor or a letter from us, as you sit down to read your mail in the evenings you can call us with your questions right then, instead of having to wait till the next business day,” said Vince Jackson, Vice President of Blue Cross Benefit Operations - Customer Service.

Blue Cross and HMO Louisiana, Inc. members can call the customer service number on their ID cards from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays. Help by phone for all healthcare providers and Federal Employee Program members continues to be available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In addition, members may find answers to common questions or send a specific message securely through Blue Cross’ online Help Center at www.bcbsla.com  24 hours a day, seven days a week.
