BRAC, Blue Cross® and Blue Shield® of Louisiana Announce Health Innovation Webinar

Nov. 4, 2020

BATON ROUGE, La. (November 4, 2020) —  The Baton Rouge Area Chamber (BRAC) today announced a virtual health innovation webinar presented by Blue Cross® and Blue Shield® of Louisiana to be held Wednesday, Nov.18 from 11 a.m. - noon. The keynote presentation will be given by Jennifer Rost, partner in McKinsey & Company’s Washington, D.C. office and lead of McKinsey’s Digital Healthcare Value service line. Additional information is available at brac.org/events.

“We are excited to partner with Blue Cross® and Blue Shield® of Louisiana on the topic of health innovations,” said Adam Knapp, president and CEO of BRAC. “Wellness in the workplace was catapulted into the spotlight due to the pandemic and has forced many companies to rethink both how they create and maintain a healthy work environment and support employees in staying healthy. We look forward to providing a space for continued discussions on the changes and trends in health and wellness, and learning more why virtual health, in particular, is growing in importance.”

COVID-19 has greatly accelerated the use of virtual health this year, with record numbers of people using telehealth services and other digital tools to keep up with their care while staying home. Rost’s presentation, “Virtual Health – The Next Frontier for Healthcare,” will outline the future of telehealth, and digital health more broadly, and how accelerating innovation and adoption could help businesses improve their employees’ healthcare access and outcomes while potentially lowering their healthcare costs.

“Innovation is all around us and moving at a pace like never before. Our rapidly changing world and the significance of a digital-first society, makes innovation all the more important. It’s transforming how we conduct business, engage with customers and access healthcare,” said Darrell Langlois, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana senior vice president and chief strategy officer. “Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana is pleased to work with BRAC, especially now during the COVID-19 pandemic, to bring important information about virtual health applications and tools that can enhance healthcare access and help make for a healthier workforce and population.”

Event registration is available at brac.org/events. The event is free and open to all businesses, regardless of investor status with BRAC.
