Medicare Health Plans from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana Earn High Quality Scores from CMS
Both HMO and PPO Medicare Advantage plans achieved 4.5 out of 5 stars

BATON ROUGE, La – Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana announced today that its 2023 Medicare Advantage health plans have earned an overall quality rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

The CMS Medicare Part C (health plan) 5-Star Quality Rating system is designed to help people compare health plans based on quality and performance. The ratings are based on member feedback and data from doctors and hospitals that work with the plan, among other factors. Plans that receive 4.5 out of 5 stars in the annual ratings have earned the agency’s second-highest rating.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana HMO offers Blue Advantage (HMO). Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana, an independent licensee of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, offers Blue Advantage (PPO). 

Blue Advantage from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana HMO is an HMO plan with a Medicare contract. Blue Advantage from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana is a PPO plan with a Medicare contract. Enrollment in either Blue Advantage plan depends on contract renewal.
