BATON ROUGE, La. – Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana has named Crystal Blanchard vice president of sales. Blanchard, a long-time Louisiana Blue employee with more than 25 years of experience in healthcare sales, account management and marketing, will begin in this role effective Nov. 1. She will report to Brian Keller, executive vice president and chief growth officer. Blanchard succeeds Greg Cross, who recently announced his retirement after 25 years with the company.
As vice president of sales, Blanchard will direct all group and individual sales activities, including renewals, for Louisiana Blue health insurance products. She will lead a team within the Sales and Marketing division specializing in sales, with responsibility for developing and directing sales-focused action plans. Blanchard also will manage Louisiana Blue’s sales directors and oversee sales operations at the nine regional offices statewide.
“Crystal has deep experience across all lines of business, and through her relationships with our producer partners, employer customers and keen focus on our members, I know we will continue to see impressive growth under her leadership,” Keller said. “Crystal also understands the unique value we bring to the state as a Louisiana-based company serving our fellow Louisianians.”
Blanchard joined Louisiana Blue in 1998 as sales coordinator for Medicare plan marketing. She went on to serve in progressively responsible roles related to marketing operations and account management. Most recently, Blanchard was Louisiana Blue sales director for the Lafayette, Lake Charles and Houma regional offices.
Blanchard earned an associate’s degree of business technology from Louisiana Technical College. She holds a Certified Health Consultant designation from the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association and was a member of the Leadership Baton Rouge class of 2020.
