Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana Announces New Organizational Structure to Position Company for Long-Term Success
New Structure Includes Senior Leadership Promotions

July 17, 2024

BATON ROUGE – Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana President and CEO Bryan Camerlinck announced a new organizational structure designed to better meet the needs of its customers through a renewed focus on simplicity, affordability and commitment to Louisiana. The new structure combines health plan operations and technology into one division and adds government business and corporate strategy to the company’s Sales and Marketing division.

As a result of the new structure, four Blue Cross senior leaders are now in elevated roles:

Brian Keller, Executive Vice President, Chief Growth Officer

Brian Keller, formerly senior vice president and chief marketing officer, has been with Blue Cross for 29 years in a variety of increasingly responsible roles within the Sales and Marketing division. In his new role, he will oversee the departments and business areas focused on strategic growth. Keller is now responsible for Commercial and Government Business, Corporate Strategy and Business Development, Sales and Marketing, Strategic Communications and the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana Foundation and Community Relations areas. Keller is executive sponsor for Blue Cross’ (dis)Ability Blue employee group to support employees with disabilities or neurodiversity, family members and allies.

Paula Shepherd, Executive Vice President, Health Plan Operations and Technology

Paula Shepherd has held various roles in the company’s Legal and Benefit Operations departments over the past 24 years, most recently as senior vice president, Benefit Operations. In addition to oversight for Health Plan Operations, which includes Claims, Customer Service and Enrollment & Billing, Shepherd will assume oversight of the Information Technology, Customer Experience, Project Management and Monroe Operations areas. Shepherd has lent her voice to internal and external conversations on health access and affordability, particularly for maternal health needs, and is executive sponsor of the African Americans employee group at Blue Cross.

Tina Bourgeois, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO)

Tina Bourgeois has been promoted to senior vice president and CIO, following the retirement of former CIO Sue Kozik. Bourgeois has been with Blue Cross for 25 years. During that time, she has held increasingly responsible roles in the Data & Analytics and Actuarial Systems divisions. Most recently, she was vice president, Enterprise Data. Bourgeois led enablement of and helped expand the insurer’s award-winning work in advanced analytics and predictive modeling. This helps Blue Cross’ care team quickly connect high-risk members with health coaches or other clinical programs and services, cutting down on avoidable hospitalizations and ER visits. Bourgeois now oversees Blue Cross’ Information Technology division.

Sherri Enright, Senior Vice President and Chief People Officer

In addition to the above promotions, Sherri Enright’s role has expanded to Chief People Officer. Enright joined Blue Cross two years ago as chief human resources officer after working for Blue Cross and Blue Shield plans in Kansas City and Kansas. She will now provide strategic direction and oversight for Blue Cross’ Administrative Services area in addition to overseeing the Human Resources division.

“Blue Cross is proud to have served Louisiana for the past 90 years, and more than 1.9 million people in our state carry a Blue Cross and Blue Shield card. As we look to the future and how we can fulfill our mission to improve the health and lives of Louisianians while delivering the best-in-class experience our members deserve, we must have the right leadership in place,” Camerlinck said. “I am confident that through our new organizational structure, we are well positioned for future success.”
