BATON ROUGE – Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana today announced it was awarded a contract from the State of Louisiana’s Office of Group Benefits (OGB). Blue Cross' subsidiary, HMO Louisiana, will offer its statewide Medicare Advantage product ‒ Blue Advantage (HMO) ‒ to the retirees insured by the State of Louisiana for plan year 2019.
Blue Advantage covers hospital, medical and prescription drugs. The plan also offers added benefits such as dental, hearing, vision and no-cost fitness memberships.

Blue Cross continues to expand its offerings for individual Medicare beneficiaries and group retirees with Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement plans.
